A new poster of the Honor Magic V5 has popped up on Weibo, just ahead of its official launch in China on July 2. It gives us a clear look at the phone’s thickness and camera design. According to the poster, the Magic V5 is just 8.8mm thick when folded, which is actually slimmer than the Oppo Find N5, previously known as the world’s thinnest foldable at 8.9mm. This also hints that the unfolded thickness could be even less, though there’s no confirmation on that yet.

Honor isn’t the only one getting ready for launch. Both the Vivo X Fold 5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 are also expected to debut in July. Leaks suggest they’ll be around 9.3mm and 9mm thick when folded, respectively. Once these hit the market, we can definitely expect comparisons with the Magic V5.
The poster also gives us a peek at the new camera layout. The Magic V5 is said to come with a 50MP main sensor, an ultrawide camera, and a massive 200MP periscope telephoto lens, which sounds like serious hardware for mobile photography fans.
And if that’s not enough, the phone is also rumored to feature a 6,100mAh battery with 66W fast charging. That’s quite a feat, especially for something this slim. For reference, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is still expected to stick with a smaller 4,400mAh battery. The poster doesn’t mention wireless charging, but chances are it’ll keep the 50W wireless charging we saw on the previous model.
Of course, these are still early details, and things might change once the phone is officially announced. But with the launch just around the corner, we won’t have to wait long to see how it stacks up against the competition.
